Australia

Korea

Pax Christi Korea co-organized two online prayers in February, hosted by the International Youth Training Center (IYTC)-Pax Romana Laudato Si' Center in Chiangmai, Thailand. The prayer meetings will be held every month in 2025 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

Japan

The Catholic Council for Justice and Peace (CCJP)

is celebrating its 50th anniversary. A book was published that traced this journey from 1975. A hybrid event was organized with Bishop Matsuura, former

CCJP president and Filo Hirota, CCJP Adviser on January 31.

Philippines

Pax Christi Pilipinas and the MC Center for Peace Education, celebrated World Interfaith Harmony Week on February 3-4, 2025 with an educational forum, “Uniting Peace Through Love,” with G. Galang, K. Abadines and N. Sultan. It included an Interfaith Youth Peace-building Workshop, focusing on holistic peace and conflict resolution, highlighting the importance of interfaith harmony and respect among diverse faiths.

Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka, the Malaiyaha Tamil are still among the poorest in the country.

This article relates the struggle of one such community in accessing land rights and improving their living conditions.

Their story is an impressive testimony of resilience, nonviolence and solidarity, that may inspire and bring hope to other communities.
