Payroll Instructions for Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Veterans Day

Below are the Faculty and Staff timesheet instructions for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Monday, October 10, 2022, and Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, 2022.

Classified Employees

If you are on a deferred pay schedule, please reference instructions for Non-Classified employees. Otherwise, please use the instructions and resources linked below.

Monday, October 10, 2022 & Friday, November 11, 2022.

Utilize the resource found here for instructions on entering time for the paid holidays.

Please note, if you do work these days, you should be reporting two time entries - Holiday Leave and Holiday Hours Worked Comp Time (or Holiday Paid 1.5), which will result in 16 hours on those days (for full-time).

Non-Classified Employees and 12-Month Faculty

If you are an hourly paid employee, please reference instructions for Classified employees.

The following instructions are based on a full-time status. If you work less than 8 hours per day, please adjust your hours proportionately.

Monday, October 10, 2022 & Friday, November 11, 2022

If you do work on the holiday(s), then no time entry is needed. You will automatically accrue Holiday Compensatory Time for working this day. Compensatory Time for both holidays will show in your leave balances after the Veterans Day holiday is processed through payroll (no later than November 25), and can be used later in the year as shown on the Holiday Schedule.

If you do not work the holiday, then enter 8 hours of appropriate leave (vacation, sick, etc.). Payroll will not deduct these leave hours from your leave accrual balance. This is only for record keeping purposes, and to ensure the Holiday Compensatory Time is given appropriately.

9, 10, and 11-Month Faculty

A timesheet is not required unless you do need to report leave for other days during the pay period(s).

If you have any questions regarding submitting or approving a timesheet, please contact payroll@isu.edu or 208-282-3010.
