Back-To-School Backpack Blessing
August 19
Back-to-School Backpack Blessing! 
We want to help all students (Preschool through High School) celebrate the start of school this year with a special blessing during our worship services.  Students and their families are invited to join us on Sunday, August 19 at either 8:30 am or 10:30 am.  Students will be invited to come up front to receive a blessing from Pastor Marty. Students may bring their backpack with them (optional).  We will have a small gift for all students to encourage them on their upcoming school year. No pre-registration is necessary. Feel free to invite students who might be family or neighbors. We want to help everyone start their school year with joy in the Lord!

Welcome and Installation of our new Director of Children & Youth Ministry - Sunday,  August 19

We will be welcoming and installing our new Director of Children & Youth, Andrew Crist on Sunday, August 19 at both of our worship services 8:30 and 10:30 am.  There will be a cake reception during our 9:30 am service.  We hope that you will join us as we welcome Andrew to our Peace family.

Middle and High School Pool Party

Pool Party 2-5 pm Sunday, August 19

Join us on  Sunday, August 19 for a cookout and splash party at Butterfield Park District (right next door to Western Acres Golf Course). The fun begins at 2  pm at the Pavilion and we can swim until 5 :00 pm. Dinner is at 4 pm. Cost is $6 per person for swimming but the food is free!  All family members of youth are welcome, too! Come meet our new Director of Children & Youth Ministry, Andrew Crist.

High School Ice Cream Social August 26

All High School Students and Parents are invited to our Ice Cream Social and Info Night on Sunday, August 26 from
6-7 pm. 
Our new Director of Children & Youth Ministry, Andrew Crist, will be here mid-August. He'll share some ideas he has for the upcoming year. We will  talk about all the awesome stuff that is planned for this coming year - youth nights, serving events, retreats, etc. And we will discuss next summer's 2019 trip to Minneapolis for the National Youth Gathering July 10-15. This event is a great way to get connected to our High School Youth ministry and we hope that all students and parents can come. Prayer Shawl Meeting
Monday, August 13

Enjoy crocheting or knitting?  This is a wonderful opportunity to put those skills to use - making prayer shawls for those who need encouragement.  Don't know how to crochet or knit?  We'll teach you! Come join us this Monday, August 13th.  We meet in the lobby sitting area.  For more information, contact Ruth Winter or the Church office.
Sunday School Volunteers Needed

Many of our Peace kids are excited for Sunday school to start in September.  We've been blessed to have so many returning teachers and helpers every year.  This year, we are looking for two individuals to co-teach a combined 1st and 2nd grade class.  We also need a helper/co-teacher for our PK-K class.  Lessons are low prep and we work with busy schedules.  If you are interested in helping this year or would like more information, please contact Katherine at [email protected] or Andrew at [email protected].  
Register for Confirmation 2018-2019

Confirmation Classes begin Tuesday, September 4 at
7:15 pm. 
 
Both 7th  and 8th  grade students are invited to register. This year, we will focus on the grand story of the Bible and the personal story of Jesus. Please call the Church Office to register (630-627-1101) or click here to register online now. 
World Gospel Outreach Golf Outing
The 11th Annual WGO Open Gold Event will be held on Friday, August 24 at Village Greens of Woodridge. This is one of the largest  fundraising events to benefit World Gospel Outreach.

Check-in 12:30 pm. Shotgun start 2 pm. 
Drawing and Silent Auction 6:30 pm. 
Dinner 7 pm. 
(Drawing/Silent Auction/Dinner only is an option.) 

$150 per person for golf, cart and dinner.
$30 per person for dinner only.
