Men of Peace Breakfast October 13
Men of Peace
Join us for our monthly breakfast on Saturday, October 13 at
8:00 am. Our guest speaker will be Carlo Giannotta, principal of Grace Christian Academy on the west side of Chicago. Carlo will share about the tremendous work being done at GCA to educate children and share the love of the Lord in a challenging community. We'll make plans for the Sunday pancake breakfast. Chef Jim and crew will whip up another great breakfast. Call a friend and bring them along!

Pancake Breakfast!
That's right, our friends at Grace Christian Academy will be here to serve us breakfast on Sunday, October 14. The menu will include not only regular pancakes, but chocolate chip pancakes and blueberry pancakes with real fresh Michigan blueberries, plus sausage, coffee and juice! Two serving times, first at
7:30 am, and then again at 9:30 am.
A free will offering will be collected to benefit Grace Christian Academy. Don't miss it!
High School Corn Maze Trip October 14
Sunday, October 14 from 4-10 PM
Heap's Corn Maze in Minooka
HIgh School Youth! Come join us on Sunday, October 14!
Youth will have a choice to do the Haunted Corn Maze and/or the Flashlight Maze in addition to a Moonlight Hay Ride.  We'll meet at Peace at 4 pm and head down to Minooka (est. 40 minute drive).  We'll stop at Portillo's along the way for dinner.  We'll plan to arrive at Heap's about 6 pm. Youth will have an opportunity to explore a bit before we do the maze options.  

Ticket Cost is $15 (covers both maze options and hayride) and permission slips need to be received before October 7. 
Checks should be made out to Peace Lutheran Church.  Please put check with signed permission slip (download here) in Andrew Crist's mailbox.  Youth will need to bring money for dinner and any additional money they would like to spend for concessions.

Peace Hosts PADS October 31-November 1
In months that have 5 Wednesdays, it is Peace's turn to provide staffing and food for our PADS shelter.
There is something for everyone from shopping to cleaning, making beds to preparing and serving meals or just being a warm friendly face after a long day (or a bright shining face early in the morning).  Sign-up sheets are in the Lobby.

Care and Share Clothing Drive
Thanksgiving Care & Share will be here soon!
Please start going through your closets for any clean, gently-worn fall/winter clothes for our Thanksgiving Care & Share distribution. Many Care & Share families need winter clothes, especially coats. Don't bring them to Peace yet! The GYM trailer will be in the parking lot starting October 28. We will accept clothes for all ages and sizes.
Middle School Rock Climbing Trip October 19 from 6-8 pm
Hey Middle Schoolers!
On Friday, October 19 from
6-8 pm, we will be taking a trip to Glendale Heights for some rock climbing at Vertical Endeavors. The cost is $15 per climber which includes 2 hours of climbing, a rental harness and an instructor. A permission slip and a liability waiver must be filled out to climb. Wear comfortable clothes and be sure to have a pair of tennis shoes. Try to arrive by 5:45 so we can maximize our climbing time. High School Pizza Night At Peace
October 28 from 6-8 pm
High Schoolers! Join us on  Sunday October 28 from 6-8 pm as we make our own pizzas! Peace will provide the sauce and pizza crust, we ask that you provide the toppings. Bring whatever toppings you would like on the pizza. Along with the scrumptious pizzas, we will have drinks, play games and have a little devotional time. Bring your appetite and your friends!
FMSC Mobile Pack November 16-17
Feed my Starving Children - a new opportunity to serve! 
On November 16 and 17, Peace w ill partner with St. John Lombard and Trinity Lisle to pack meals for starving children around the world. If you, your family, or your small group would like to volunteer to pack meals, click on this link:  www.FMSC.org   and scroll down to our event (listed by state).

We will have private registration from 9/28 to 10/19 and then public from 10/19 to the event.  For private registration the access code is 1116.

We also need help setting up, signing people in, and cleaning up. Sign-up sheets are available at the Events Counter in the Lobby. This is a great way to serve God by helping others. Hope we see you there!
