On Thursday, February 29th, over 500 community members gathered for the Crisis Center's 21st annual Cup of Compassion fundraising breakfast.
Deanne King of WFLA served as the mistress of ceremonies. The event speakers included former NFL player and Crisis Center employee Ali Marpet, Crisis Center Advocate Manager Ebony McIntye, Crisis Center CEO Clara Reynolds, and Sheriff Chad Chronister.
Clara Reynolds pointed out how even though we all define and interpret a "crisis" differently, it doesn't change the fact that we all experience them throughout our lives and sometimes need outside support to help navigate through it.
As this year's presenting sponsor, Sheriff Chad Chronister shared how important of a utility the Crisis Center is for our community.
A special thank you to our event sponsors, as well as Elizabeth and Tim Traud for committing to a match up to $25,000 in gifts. The DeBartolo Foundation contributed a $15,000 match, Derek and Jen Iavarone committed to a $10,000 match, and the Crisis Center's Board of Directors also provided a match. Combined with attendee donations, we raised over $573,000.
