FPP Youthworkers

We're so happy to welcome a team of Youthworkers to work with us learning about all things Patterson Park!

Under the leadership of Olivia Merchant, our crew supervisor, they are also getting an introduction to trees!

A new partnership with the Forestry Division of Baltimore City Recreation and Parks is adapting the Treekeeper Curriculum to create Treekeeper Apprentices. The Youthworkers are learning about park trees, street trees, tree identification, and tree care. They'll be out in the park to apply what they're learning and do other maintenance.

Please say hello if you see them and thank them for their hard work!

Marble Fountain Update

We appreciate your patience as we work to find the best way to keep the fountain in good shape this first season with the new infrastructure.

We are working with our contractor on different combinations of treatments - both manual and chemical - to find a good balance that works with the high volume of organic material generated by trees in the park. The rainy summer and hot temperatures make it a little more complicated but we're staying on it!
