Nothing makes us happier than seeing children experiencing the market and enjoying their community. We strive to help children develop a reverence for the earth, and an appreciation for their food and the people who grow it. It's our hope that we're growing a generation that embraces farming, lives like a local, and eats with seasons.

This Saturday we've got lots of great activities for the little ones, starting bright and early at 9:30am. Read on and see what

Sing n Move at the Market 9:30 am
Bring your wee ones to the market this Saturday for Sing N Move with Ms Liv! She'll take your child on an exciting journey "around the farm!" Get ready for singing, dancing, exploring and more at this free event starting at 9:30am on the South lawn of the Circle.

Book & Puppet Co.
Storytime (10:30am) and Author Signing
This week the POP Club welcomes Book and Puppet Co.! Attend their storytime at 10:30am and earn $2 in POP Bucks.

The storytime will feature new releases from Sergio Ruzzier and Rowboat Watkins, and both authors will be on sight for a book signing as well!

The second story in Sergio's new book Fox & Chick: The Party is about harvesting vegetables and sharing the vegetable soup.

Rowboat Watkins' new book Big Bunny features two heads of lettuce telling each other a scary story about a rampaging bunny rabbit who eats not only carrots but also buses, buildings and bridges

Yellow and white peaches are in full swing now, joined this week by yellow and purple plums. Apricots and sweet and sour cherries are still hanging on, but if you were dreaming of a sour cherry pie this summer, you better act fast - this will be the last week for sours! Tomatoes are here, along with green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, and so much more!
Backyard Growers

Caladiums originated in South America, so they thrive in warm weather. These colorful plants also make perfect house/office plants. Caladiums love filtered sunlight and shade. They need well-drained soil that’s rich in organic matter, such as mushroom compost or chopped leaves. Bulbs can be stored for next spring. Stop and see other offerings!!

And Kombucha guy Don and his PorTch Tea will have some berry good blends, with our blueberries, of course, and a really good peach. And beet. And several other usual suspects. We’ll even explain where the name PorTch came from, if you haven’t heard!"

After least week's warm reception, Liza is making 9" French Onion Soup Quiche (vegetarian) as well as her goat cheese/zucchini quiche. Eggplant Parm Quiche available by the slice.

Other goodies will include their GF Black Bean ("BB") Brownines and GF Chocolate Almond Torte, Soft pretzels, Bundt Cake, and Cinnamon Buns. And in honor of Bastille Day, they'll be debuting ECLAIRS and a Tarte Tatin by the slice.
