Leadership Fayette is now accepting applications for its 2023-24 class.

Produced by the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, the program provides existing and emerging leaders with opportunities to enhance their civic knowledge of Fayette County, hone their leadership skills and network with leaders across the community.

As part of the ongoing commitment to provide quality education and programming, Leadership Fayette is once again partnering with the University of Georgia Fanning Institute for Leadership Development for expert facilitation for several class sessions. In addition to participating in classroom discussions and activities that connect students to a variety of topics, they will also have opportunities to make in-person community connections.

Panasonic Automotive Systems of America will serve as the Presenting Sponsor for Leadership Fayette. They have provided participants a better understanding of how the Fayette community works and inspired citizens to utilize their talents to serve the community for more than 30 years. Other program sponsors include BMW of South Atlanta, Coweta-Fayette EMC, and Georgia Power.

Celebrating Juneteenth: Book Selections by the Peachtree City Library

In honor of Juneteenth, the Peachtree City Library has curated a thoughtful selection of books to commemorate the historic occasion. Recognizing the significance of Juneteenth as the celebration of emancipation from slavery in the United States, the library aims to foster understanding, reflection, and dialogue among its patrons.

The library's Juneteenth collection encompasses a diverse range of literature, including memoirs, historical accounts, and fictional narratives. These works explore the African American experience, the struggle for freedom, and the triumphs and challenges faced by Black communities throughout history. Through these selections, the library seeks to amplify marginalized voices, promote empathy, and educate the public about the enduring legacy of slavery.

By prioritizing the recognition and celebration of Juneteenth, the Peachtree City Library continues its commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and the dissemination of knowledge. The curated selections serve as a testament to the library's dedication to promoting awareness and understanding of the struggles and achievements of African Americans in their journey towards freedom and equality.
