Final Early Voting Numbers

Advance voting for the November 8, 2022, Peachtree City City Council Post three special election wrapped up last week. Voters who already cast an early ballot for the general election, but DID NOT vote in the special municipal election can return to their municipal polling precinct on election day and cast their vote for the vacant city council seat.


Below are the total numbers of ballots cast during the advance voting period. These numbers are accurate as of the close of business, Friday, November 4, 2022.


Unofficial election results will be posted after the polls close on election day at the Peachtree City's election page.


Peachtree City Special Election Absentee In Person (Early Voting) Ballots Cast:

Fayette County Elections Office: 189

Fayette County Library: 78

Peachtree City Library: 7,892

Tyrone Former Police Office: 995

Total: 9,154

Mondays with the Mayor:

New golf cart paths & a new city manager

This week, on Mondays with the Mayor, Mayor Learnard shares an update on golf cart path upgrades around Peachtree City.


The mayor discusses the playground advisory group's presentation to the city council on November 3.


Then, she talks about the new city manager, Bob Curnow, who currently serves as deputy city manager in Coral Springs, Florida.


Mayor Learnard also encourages everyone to vote in the November 8th general election.

New Property Tax Estimator Released

Residents can now estimate their city tax bill using a new, convenient tool on the city's website.


*Calculator estimates city property tax based on the property value entered. Additionally, the calculator does not provide estimates for county or school board percentage of property taxes.

Consolidated Senior Exemption Filing Date

To qualify for the Senior Homestead Exemption in Peachtree City, homeowners must be age 65 or older by January 1st of the year in which the exemption is applied for and must have already applied for the standard Homestead Exemption through the Fayette County Tax Commissioners' Office. The resident's household income, which must be less than $30,000, will be calculated on the Federal Adjusted Gross Income of the applicant and spouse. The city exemption is a flat reduction of $5,000 of your property's net assessed value.


While in years past, forms and documents were due on different dates. Beginning in January of 2023, qualifying seniors should bring the completed application, proof of age, and income (a copy of their past years' tax returns) to City Hall, 151 Willowbend Road, in Peachtree City to file for the exemption by April 1st of every year.

Fully staffed, library announces extended hours

The library announces new extended hours due to the addition of new staff.


Starting November 14, 2022, the Peachtree City Library will open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The library will stay open until 8 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays. It will be closed on Sundays.


Library staff thanks the community for its continued support of our city's passport to learning.

Resident Renewals

The 3-year renewal notices for 2023 - 2025, totaling $45, are due by December 31, 2022. A $20 late fee will apply to all late renewals.


Non-Resident Annual Renewals

Non-resident renewals for 2023 will be mailed out on December 12, 2022, and are due by January 31, 2023. The new supplemental sticker will be valid until January 31, 2024. Non-residents pay the $15 annual registration PLUS a $235 path user fee. A $20 late fee will apply to all late renewals.
