Preparing for the Unexpected

Over the past several months, the Peachtree City Fire-Rescue has made it to all three lakes in the City to conduct water rescue training. Our Water Rescue Team members include those certified as Boat Operators, Inland Rescue Swimmers, and Swift Water Technicians. They conducted several different drills, including boat maneuverability, swimming techniques, and victim rescue.

Peachtree City is home to many water-related activities and events, from triathlons, paddle boarding, and kayaking to dragon boat races. While we hope this training is never needed, we are grateful to have experts in this field working and training here in Peachtree City.

Peachtree City Fire Rescue members are committed to their mission of providing quality emergency services through community education, prevention, and effective emergency response. Members responded to over 5,000 calls for service last year. They provide Advanced Life Support - Emergency Medical Services, Public Fire Safety Education, Fire Prevention, Rescue, and Fire Suppression.

All Abilities Playground at All Children's

Plan to play at The Luther Holt Memorial All Children’s Playground Grand Re-Opening on September 15, 2022, at 4 pm. The original playground was constructed in the early 2000s and was intentionally designed to be a playground where able-bodied children and disabled children of all ages can play, be challenged, and have fun together. It goes beyond basic wheelchair accessibility to ensure that all kids have an inviting and enjoyable experience.

The new playground features many inclusive play structures including smooth play surfaces, a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round, swings, and musical features. Young children will enjoy a “tiny town” play area, with activities for imaginative and creative play. "We want children of all abilities to be able to play together, to feel they belong, and to be engaged and connected. This is a great effort and a truly special place," stated Mayor Kim Learnard.

Visitors can take in beautiful lake views while sitting on one of the many shaded benches and the children can take a break from playing and enjoy a picnic in the pavilion. The time spent together playing will create memories that will last a lifetime. There really is something for everyone at The Luther Holt Memorial All Children’s Playground.

From the USA Today bestselling author of The Engineer’s Wife comes a vibrant and compelling historical fiction novel based on the true stories of the American nurses who served in World War I.
