Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Hello Stephanie,

Today, on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the 2,403 service members and civilians who tragically lost their lives on December 7, 1941. Eighty-three years ago, this unprovoked attack reshaped history, calling upon a generation to rise in defense of democracy and stand against the forces of fascism in World War II.

As a US Marine Corps Veteran, I am deeply moved by the courage and sacrifice of those who answered the call in the wake of this attack. The men and women of the Greatest Generation risked everything, not for a single person or place, but for the enduring ideals of liberty and freedom. Their sacrifices brought forth a world rooted in peace and security, and their bravery reminds us that the torch of freedom must be carried forward by every generation.

May we remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding the principles they fought to defend—freedom, democracy, and equality for all.

In remembrance and gratitude,

State Representative Stephanie Kifowit
