Today is the 76th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and America's entry into World War II. I think of the great challenges that faced our nation then and the challenges our nation faces today.
By remembering those past and present, it reminds us that freedom is not free. Our fighting men and women of the 20th century stood up to the evil their day in the form of Nazism and Imperial Japan, and today we stand against an evil in the form of terrorism or cold-blooded killers.
We would not be able to speak, worship, work, live, and pursue our happiness without the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform. It is vital that we never forget this. I hope you will take time from your busy schedule and find a World War II veteran and thank them for their service.
As always, please take time to pause to remember all of our brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who are putting their all on the line today for each of us. It is a privilege to live in this great country and our privileged duty and honor to thank those who have made and are still making it possible.
In humble gratitude,
