Updates from Mrs. Moore
Due to federal social distancing mandates by LA County, Pearl will remain in Distance Learning mode through May 15 for sure. We're mindful that we can not fully predict what will come to pass over the weeks ahead, but realize the chances of returning to normal school this year are slim. With that said, we are continuing to evaluate our program and adapt. Earlier this week we made the big Friday Honors Arts/Make-Up Day announcement which has had positive feedback. Our next adjustment will be to our grading system for 1st-5th grades. For this last trimester which is being done almost entirely at home, we will change to an E, S, I grading system. (Kinder remains 1,2,3)
E=Excellent S=Satisfactory I=Incomplete*
*Students will have till the beginning of the fall trimester to make up incomplete work and have their official grade changed to an S. Teachers will be clearly communicating with teachers each week on work that is missing.

Friday Honors Arts
Fridays are now reserved for Honors Arts & Make-up work. Students are encouraged to take multiple classes if they want along with spending time on Freckle, Rocket Math, Tynker/Scratch Coding and Typetastic. Check out the Encore Page under School News on Gradelink for all the links and more information.
Teacher Appreciation
Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May and we still want to celebrate here at Pearl. The PAL group has some fun ideas including a Teacher Lunch and Car Parade on May 6th from 12-1 pm. There will also be collection boxes out on Friday Pick-up on May 8th to drop off a card or small gift for your teacher. Read More
