WHEN SHOULD MY CHILD GET VACCINATED?

September and October are generally great times to get vaccinated. Some children may need 2 doses, given at least 4 weeks apart. If your child needs two doses, we recommend getting the first dose as soon as the vaccine is available. Remember: It takes about 2 weeks after vaccination for the body to develop protection.

ALREADY COMING IN FOR A WELL VISIT?

No separate vaccine appointment needed!

If your child has an upcoming well-child visit, we can provide their seasonal vaccines during that appointment.

Bringing siblings? We can vaccinate siblings at the visit, too.

DOES MY CHILD NEED 2 DOSES?

Some children ages 6 months through 8 years may need 2 doses of flu vaccine this season, given at least 4 weeks apart.  This applies to children who have not previously received two flu vaccine doses within a single flu season (September–May), which typically occurs during their first year of receiving the flu vaccine.

Not sure what your child needs? Our team can help determine the appropriate vaccination schedule.

A QUICK REFRESHER: What is influenza (flu)?

Flu is a highly contagious respiratory illness. Symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue. Seasonal flu vaccination can help reduce the risk of getting and spreading influenza. While the vaccine cannot guarantee that you will not contract the flu during flu season, it can significantly reduce the severity of the illness.
