Tuesday, 12 May 2020 | Issue 22
Dear Chapter Members,

Thank you for being a member of the Nevada AAP and for all you are doing for children in Nevada. The AAP and our Chapter are focused not only on the current consequences of the pandemic on the health of children, but on advocating for pediatricians' health, including physical, mental, and fiscal. Our chapter is currently 276 members strong (a record for our chapter) and growing! Thank you to the many of you who have contributed to the efforts described in this update.

Be well,
Leann D. McAllister, Executive Director
Nevada Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics

Nevada AAP In the News
Nevada AAP Chapter President Pam Greenspon, MD, FAAP, has responded to multiple interview requests from local media over the past month. You can read the stories on our In the News page.

The Nevada AAP will continue to provide timely and accurate information to parents and the media on a wide range of pediatric health topics. Chapter members who want to serve as a media spokesperson are asked to email to schedule media training.
Worth a Read
Take a moment to read our latest Nevada AAP Blog Post from Nevada AAP State Medical Student Representative '19-'20 Taylor Gillis on the Collaborative Care Model . Taylor learned about the model at the AAP National Conference in New Orleans in October.

The Nevada AAP Blog gives us an opportunity to take state-wide, national, and international health news and best practices, and focus it specifically on improving pediatric healthcare in Nevada. All chapter members are welcome to write for the Blog.

Nevada COVID-19 Support Line for Clinicians & First Responders
Curbside Nevada is a group of volunteer psychiatric physicians sponsored by the Nevada Psychiatric Association (NPA). Volunteers are there for you, the medical professional, when you feel overwhelmed and need someone to talk to. Licenced professionals are available to chat with you about your emotional concerns generated by the stress of caring for patients with COVID-19. They can also offer curbside type consultation regarding your patients’ mental health needs, including answering questions about psychotropics, via free, confidential phone support, but we are not a treatment or referral agency.
