AAP Payer Advocacy Advisory Committee (PAAC) Updates
As many of you know by now, significant changes to E/M codes begin Jan. 1, 2021. The AAP Payer Advocacy Advisory Committee (PAAC) wants members to know that documentation of 2021 E/M codes compared to 2018 and 2019 will be critical for practices. PAAC urges practices to begin to collect baseline data to have data to compare the 2021 changes to. Please explore the downloadable spreadsheet found here and review your 2019 data and eventually your 2020 data (2020 impacted by COVID-19 important but AAP also wants prior year) to be prepared for comparing 2021 data as it becomes available.
Welcome Alexandra
The Nevada AAP is excited to welcome Alexandra Aland as our newest chapter intern!

Alexandra is a University of Nevada Reno senior graduating this fall. She started her college career in 2016 at Truckee Meadows Community College graduating with an Associates of Science Degree before transferring to UNR to study Public Health. After graduation, Alexandra plans to obtain a CNA certificate with aspirations of working toward being a dermatologist.

In addition to her studies and this internship, Alexandra also currently works at a title 1 elementary school giving the Nevada AAP inside access to what's happening at a public school during the pandemic. Over the next few weeks, Alexandra will reach out to Nevada AAP members who are also members of the AAP's Council on School Health (COSH) with an aim of increasing chapter activities at Nevada schools.
Expanding from Quality Improvement to Value Improvement – Recorded Webinar
Expanding from Quality Improvement to Value Improvement is necessary and useful when seeking to lower cost and resource utilization while improving value of care, outcomes, and patient experience. Value Improvement has started to gain more momentum in healthcare, but there is still work to be done. This recorded webinar, presented by Mike Tchou, MD, MSc, FAAP provides attendees with the resources and educational tools needed to begin implementing high-value care.
Stay home. Connect virtually!
