Pedro J. Pizarro is president and chief executive officer of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. Edison International is also the parent company of Edison Energy, a portfolio of competitive businesses providing commercial and industrial customers with energy management and procurement services. He is a member of Edison International’s board of directors.

Latinos for Engagement, Advancement & Development (LEAD)

Pedro greets Edison employees who are also members of Edison's Latinos for Engagement, Advancement & Development (LEAD).
LEAD membership includes nearly 380 active members out of So Cal Edison's 12,500 employees. It was founded in 1992 as an affinity group.
It focuses its efforts in three areas:
- How to promote affinity and connections among its membership and how do we increase engagement
- How to execute activities effectively and enable interaction with our membership thru technology, and how track the impact of our efforts
- How does LEAD fulfill its role as a Business Resource Group?

Pedro will be highlighted as keynote speaker at the company's annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month scheduled virtually for Friday, October 9, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
LEAD was honored for its excellence in corporate leadership, mentorship, and dedicated work in the community by LATINA Style Magazine in 2017, and in 2018 and 2019 as one of the Top 20 Resource Groups in the US.
More recently, LEAD transitioned its activities into digital for its "Buddy to Boss and Franklin Covey Productivity seminars and a Platica on Continuing Education, quarterly membership, and strategic advisor meetings, and Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration scheduled in October.

ALEX PADILLA TO HARRIS' SENATE SEAT
Sacramento - California has the largest Latino population of any state with 15 million, about 40% of the total population. And Latinos now make up more than 25% of the vote.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla, from Los Angeles, is now the favorite of many leaders throughout California, to replace Senator Kamala Harris should Biden/Harris win the presidential election in November.

The Ambassadors are high-profile individuals from academia, energy companies, and community organizations, who will be sharing updates about Equity in Energy with their networks, attending Equity in Energy events, and speaking out about the importance of diversity in energy. Champions are U.S. Department of Energy leaders who are tasked with evaluating their portfolios to ensure every possible measure is being taken for outreach, support, and full accessibility for all.
“We are a world energy leader, and we must include and expand the participation of underserved communities across the energy landscape,” said Secretary Dan Brouillette. “Equity in Energy’s Ambassadors and Champions can open the door to a future that is filled with opportunity and promise.”

The store suffered extensive damage in recent civil unrest and looting incidents. The store was also severely damaged back in May.
