Estero High School
Matt Timm
Timm guided the Wildcats to a second-place tie at the District 2A-14 tournament and a seventh-place finish at regionals. Estero also finished 13th at the Class 2A state tournament.
As we heard from the Estero coaches at the golf event in November, the continuing success of their programs is due, in no small part, to the contributions, continued support, and facility usage of PSGRC and its members. Marcy Holtz is especially noteworthy for her efforts to support the teams and organization of the annual fundraising tournament for so many years.

Our first official ride of the season had 27 hearty riders participate in the strong wind and the threat of impending rain.
7 Road Riders followed their leader, Jon Helberg into the teeth of the wind on their way to North Collier Park. Their reward was a strong tailwind on the way back which enabled speeds in the mid and upper 20’s.
Jerry Begue led a group of 9 Sprinters on a 20 mile tour of Three Oaks Parkway. They also benefited from the wind on their northbound stretch.
Mary Beres led a group of 11 Cruisers on a 14 mile ride to the Estero Ritz property.

ATTENTION ALL KAYAKERS AND 'WANNA-BE KAYAKERS'
Since a lot of you northerners are just returning south for the season we would like to again provide you with information regarding our new kayak launch. Many of you may have seen the structure that has been installed along the Estero River shoreline adjacent to the kayak storage racks. This new launch aid will provide a much easier and safer method for launching and retrieving without having to balance yourselves quite as much as in the past. We have received excellent feedback from people that have tried the launch with positive comments on how easy it is to use. Rather than explain the concept we are providing this instructional video for you:
There have been some other improvements to our paddle craft too. The kayaks have all been thoroughly cleaned and newly stenciled and the seats have been mended and adjusted as necessary. We also purchased some new paddles and life vests and have added two new paddleboards to our fleet. PLEASE REMEMBER that all paddle craft must be reserved through the PSGRC app or website prior to use.
Due to the limited capacity of kayaks, we require reservations before taking one out. Please visit the member website or PS mobile app under "Activities" to reserve a watercraft. Each kayak is numbered for you to take the one selected when booking the reservation.
There is a new digital door lock on the booth to access the paddles and life jackets. Your reservation confirmation will provide the code to unlock the door.
