7 Winter DIY Ideas

With the cooling weather and rainy season here, you might find yourself indoors more often. I know that is true of me. Here are 7 DIY projects to help you pass the time inside and improve your home!

  1. Paint inside: accent wall or ceiling paint, if you don't want to tackle painting a whole room
  2. Kitchen face lift: install a backsplash or change the cabinet hardware
  3. Bathroom freshener: deep clean, re-grout the tile, replace the hardware, install LED strip lights, or even just change the shower curtain
  4. Refurbish interior doors: paint doors or even just change door knobs
  5. Declutter: toss out clothes and junk, reorganize with floating shelves over-the-door hooks & hangers
  6. Add insulation: seal windows & doors and replace windows, since it is cold and can lower your utility bill
  7. Install a programmable thermostat: the convenience and energy efficiency savings are amazing

Winter Beauty Hacks

With the colder weather and upcoming holiday parties, I have definitely been looking into ways to keep my skin hydrated, protect my skin from the cold, and look my fabulous best for the parties. I recently came across these beauty hacks. Check them out! I hope you find them just as useful too :)

  • Use a toothbrush to exfoliate your lips, with the bristles removing dead and rough skin to make your lips soft and smooth
  • DIY lip scrub with equal parts sugar and honey for more exfoliation
  • Vaseline - slather on your heels before putting your socks on for an instant, low cost foot treatment that softens and hydrates your feet
  • Unscented baby wipes to remove that holiday party makeup
  • Prime eyelids with a layer of white eyeliner to make eyeshadow more pigmented and pop

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

As the weather gets colder, I look for cozy meals for the whole family. This soup is perfect; it's warm, flavorful, and so easy to make. I hope you enjoy it as much as my kids and I did!
