Big Discounts on Electric Cars!
Now is the perfect time to go electric! From now through December 31st, San Mateo County residents can save thousands of dollars on select models of popular electric cars — in addition to the savings from local, state, and federal incentives.
Bay Area Community Energy Agencies to Provide Local Resiliency
Peninsula Clean Energy has joined forces with East Bay Community Energy, Silicon Valley Power, and Silicon Valley Clean Energy to provide resilient solar power combined with battery storage to approximately  6,000 homes and hundreds of businesses  in San Mateo, Alameda and Santa Clara counties, including those hit by recent PG&E power shutoffs.
Along with our partners, we have issued a joint solicitation for the installation of  over 30 megawatts  of battery storage for our customers. This will help stabilize California’s grid by providing residents and businesses with economical and  emissions-free  battery backup systems.

Previously, Peninsula Clean Energy committed up to $10 million over the next three years to fund clean backup power for San Mateo County’s medically vulnerable residents and essential community services during power shutoffs.
A Year of EV Commuting to Sacramento: Q&A with Kevin Mullin
We caught up with Assemblymember Mullin one year after he purchased his Chevy Bolt through Peninsula Clean Energy’s new EV discount program in 2018. We wanted to know about his regular all-electric commute from San Mateo County to Sacramento.

“The benefits of an electric vehicle along with the generous rebate made the Bolt an easy decision,” he said. Mullin, who represents much of the County in the State Assembly, lives in South San Francisco with his wife, their twin sons, and a rescue beagle named Sunshine.
Get Ready to See More Electric Car Chargers!
Peninsula Clean Energy and the California Energy Commission are together investing $24 million for incentives to increase public electric vehicle charging locations in San Mateo County.

Thanks to this effort, thousands of charging stations will be installed in San Mateo County over the next four years!
Why Care About Building Codes?
Cities and counties can update building codes to to be more advanced than what the state requires. When adopted, these so-called "Reach Codes" can result in buildings that are safer, healthier and more energy efficient.

Menlo Park and San Mateo recently passed ambitious Reach Codes, and several other municipalities are considering them. Congratulations!
