Narrative Budgets - NEW
|
Too often and to too many, budget meetings feel a lot like Charlie Brown's school teacher talking. "Waah, wah, waah, waaah, wah, wah...."
A way around this is putting together a narrative budget. Narrative budgets weave together a compelling, inspiring story about your mission and ministry. In essence, a narrative budget transforms spreadsheets and numbers into a moving picture.
A few tips for starting your narrative budget:
- Review your overall mission (mission statement, strategic plan, vision) and use that as a baseline to build your narrative budget.
- Group your missions into four headers for your narrative budget (worship, outreach, education, youth, community, missions, education, etc.)
- Tie salaries, operating costs and program costs and other aspects to the mission.
- Write one or two descriptive paragraphs for each ministry area. Let readers see the impact of the ministry.
- Use visuals! Visuals are key - pie graph, call outs to increases/decreases, pictures, color (or even colored paper) can paint the picture well.
If you need assistance getting a start on your budget for 2019, please don't hesitate to reach out to Stephanie.

Outreach to Colleges - NEW
|
Penn Central Conference has many churches in close proximity to many colleges.
'Tis the Season to be thinking about ministry to college students.
1. Host a free laundry night.
2. Serve midnight breakfast during finals.
3. Offer career coaching.
4. Use your church bus as transport
5. Offer free proof reading
6. Recruit strong back for move-in day.
7. Offer free church bus tickets to an out of town game.
Christ Church, Annville shares one way they are marketing to college students. (Thanks, Christ Church!)
Dear friends,
Christ Church, Annville is in walking distance of the Lebanon Valley College campus. With the arrival of a new freshman class, we would like to INVITE any PCC young adults attending LVC to come visit our church.
If you would provide us with contact information, we would be sure to invite students to events that might be of great interest to them (INCLUDING Sundays that we have potluck meals with really GOOD EATS).
Just send information to xx (pastor's email) or xx (secretary's email) or call the church at xxx-xxx-xxxx. Thanks for helping us minister to our community.

Prayers for Our Churches |

Prayers for Penn Central Conference Churches
"Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere, just as it is among you."
(2 Thess. 3:1)
Beginning in 2018, we have created a prayer list to invite you to pray with us as we pray for all of our congregations. Each week we will list names of various churches in Penn Central Conference hoping you will add them to your prayer list, and hold them in prayer throughout the week.
- Emmanuel (Freysville) UCC, Red Lion
- Saint John's UCC, Red Lion
- Richfield UCC, Richfield
