Innovation Grant - NEW
You may have heard the announcement about our new Innovation Grant at Annual Meeting or saw it in the July eNews. The deadline for 2018 is fast approaching!

Change and Transformation are core values listed in the Penn Central Conference 2017-2020 Strategic (Missional) Plan. In an effort to foster these core values in our congregations and equip them to thrive in their mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, we have implemented a new Penn Central Conference Innovation grant.
This grant is available to UCC faith communities within the Penn Central Conference of the United Church of Christ. The new grant provides partial funding for congregational innovative ministry initiatives, based on the specific criteria set forth in the grant.
To be considered for an innovation grant, all applicants will: 
  • Complete and submit application form by the deadline. (Late applications will not be accepted.)
  • Attach 18-month project proposal with detailed budget and project description (see application form)  
  • Use grant funds for project supplies, etc. (not salaries)
  • Submit a grant proposal that reflects a bold and innovative approach to ministry and/or applies an old model in a new way to address a particular need within the ministry context (e.g. community outreach)
Ministries that are meant to be sustaining, as well as ministries that are meant to be impactful for a particular time and place, are encouraged to apply.  For additional details, please see the details on our Web site.
 
All 2018 program applicants will be notified by the end of November 2018 about award decisions.

Energy Star Events - September 25 - 27
ENERGY STAR is the nation's voluntary program helping congregations, businesses, schools, homeowners, and tenants save energy and water-and therefore money. Local Pennsylvania faith communities are hosting ENERGY STAR presentations on tools, training, and technical support freely available on their Web site. 
Our Children's Trust  - NEW
In a landmark case called Juliana v. U.S., twenty-one courageous youth have filed a lawsuit against the United States government for its role in causing climate change and violating their rights to life, liberty, and property, while also failing to protect essential public resources. The youth range in age from 10 to 21, and their voices provoke a moment of moral reckoning for our nation. Their day in court is coming, and now is the time for people of faith and conscience to speak out in solidarity.  Follow their story - Our Children's Trust

    Beginning in 2018, we have created a prayer list to invite you to pray with us as we pray for all of our congregations. Each week we will list names of various churches in Penn Central Conference hoping you will add them to your prayer list, and hold them in prayer throughout the week.
