The Lebanon Association - NEW
As we begin to share some information from our Associations, we hope that you will feel the strength of community as well as witness some great ministry and mission at work.  Penn Central Conference - Connected - Engaged - Transformed
   
The churches of the Lebanon Association are preparing to gather for their annual Fall Meeting on October 21st. The meeting will be held at Grace UCC in Lebanon at 3 p.m., and will feature a presentation from St. John's, Jonestown, detailing their success with the Messy Church concept, as well as a baptism renewal service, and a short business session. All interested persons are welcome to attend.
Congregations around Lebanon County are greeting the fall season in various ways. At St. Mark's, Lebanon, a First Responder's Service to honor all the firemen and women, ambulance personnel, and police officers in Lebanon County was held on September 9th. A Sunday Fellowship service on Sunday evenings from 5:30P PM- 6:30 PM has also begun, and is open to the community. Plans are underway for a combined Thanksgiving Eve service with the folks at St. John's, Lebanon.
St. John's, Fredericksburg, kicked off the fall season with a tailgate program featuring The Faith Playbook, a streamed event offering members of the Philadelphia Eagles sharing their faith journeys. A community event using this program is planned for October 13th from 1:30-4:00. The video will be available indoors while a football-themed carnival is held outside for children. A special program featuring the St. John's Choir will be held on October 20th at 4:00 p.m., followed by a baked potato bar supper. All donations from this program will help to sponsor the church's music ministry.
St. John's, Jonestown, invites everyone to their Craft Fair on October 13th from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, 600 Shepherd Street, Jonestown, sponsored by the St. John's Angels Relay for Life Team. Anyone interested in participating as a vendor should contact Doris Edris at (717) 507-5541. October's Messy Church program, Spooky Woods, will be held on Friday, October 19th, from 5:30 - 8:00 PM.  All families are welcome to an evening of great food, fellowship, fun and a little bit of messy. St. John's Annual Holiday Bazaar, on Saturday, November 10th, will run from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM, featuring crafts, baked goods, Grandma's Attic - everything you need to make your holidays special. Breakfast and lunch items will be available.
Quentin UCC has welcomed a new minister, Pastor Jessica Hainley , who began her pastorate on September 16th. The congregation will rejoice in her ordination service on September 30th at St. Peter's Wisdom Table in Lancaster. A "clothing" swap of children's items is planned for October 13th. The basket and bazaar ladies are preparing for the annual Christmas bazaar on November 10th.
 
There is also plenty of opportunity for good eating around Lebanon County as fall fundraisers abound. Please check our Lebanon Association Web site for more information about these activities at our churches.

Lancaster's 2018 CROP Walk - NEW
Lancaster's 2018 CROP Walk
 
This year's Lancaster CROP Walk will begin at 1:30 pm on Sunday, October 21, at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren at 1601 Sunset Avenue. Registration begins at 12:30.  This year's Lancaster Walk is its 46th. Since the first Walk in 1973 more than $5,000,000. have been raised to combat hunger in the community and abroad. As has been the case in previous years 3/4 of what is raised goes to support the work of Church World Service and 1/4 supports the food ministry of the Lancaster County Council of Churches.
 
Churches can sign up for the Walk here.
 
Walk materials (posters, envelopes, and flyers) are available at three locations:
   1)   Annunciation Orthodox Church, 46 Hershey Avenue
   2)   Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 East Roseville Road
   3)   Lancaster County Council of Churches, 812 North Queen Street
 
You can participate by 1) walking and/or by serving as a sponsor for those who do walk.
