Congratulations Penn-Trafford Concert Percussion!

Penn-Trafford Concert Percussion earned First Place on March 4-5, 2023 at the WGI Regionals in Indianapolis, Indiana in the Scholastic Concert A class. Due to their high score, they were promoted to a higher class. Two weeks later on March 18-19, 2023 they again earned First Place at the WGI Regionals in Dayton, Ohio in the higher class of Scholastic Concert Open. Congratulations to these amazing musicians!

Level Green Spring Cleanup

Level Green Spring Cleanup is Saturday, April 22, and Lion Bruno Mediate joins us to talk some ‘trash’. - Brian Montgomery

Which organizations are involved?

BM: The Women’s Club (of Level Green) helps out, the Boy Scouts send a whole bunch of people, the Presbyterian Church, Penn-Trafford (sends) students from the CAP program and people in the community will come over and want to help. The fire department rides around and makes sure everybody is safe and they pick up the trash bags and bring them back to the Community Building and the police patrol the streets during that time.

It’s a Saturday morning event from 9 to 11 AM.

BM: It worked pretty well (previously); it’s our third year in a row we have it. The Lions, during the warm weather months, do a quarterly litter pickup. Our stretch of road is from Saunders Station (Road) on 130 to the S-curve by Meadowbrook (Road). The Women’s Club, also do (clean-ups) and their stretch of road is on Meadowbrook. We’re coordinating and we’re both doing our litter pick-ups (on April 22).

You assign the areas, but volunteers can pre-register and request specific roads.

BM: Yeah. Say somebody lives on Shady Drive and they want to (clean up) Shady; all they have to do is let us know and that’s where we’ll put them. We don’t assign the Scouts and younger people to any bad section of road, we wouldn’t put them on 130, and we try to assign them around the Elementary School and places in Level Green where there’s not a lot of heavy traffic.

And refreshments afterward?

BM: We have everybody come back by 11:30A. We’re gonna have donuts, coffee, pop, and water available for everybody.

Level Green Spring Cleanup is Saturday, April 22 from 9-11A, with registration from 8:30A-9A at the Community Building (123 Murrysville Road). Volunteers can pre-register and request a specific road assignment by contacting Bruno Mediate at bmediate@comcast.net or (412) 508-2938.
