At the Innovative Manufacturers’ Center (IMC) annual meeting, Tanna Pugh was appointed as IMC Chairperson and will serve in this role for a one-year term. As IMC’s newly appointed Chairperson, Tanna will continue to bring her years of experience in building and sustaining long-term relationships, tech transfer, as well as program and business development to the center. Tanna has been a member of the IMC Board of Directors since September 2020. She will continue to serve as the director of PennTAP. Read more.

The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing Institute awarded $6 million to assist southwestern Pennsylvania makerspaces, with $1.5 million going toward each makerspace. This includes the Digital Foundry at New Kensington, which will use the funding to build on existing programming and capabilities at the Corner LaunchBox. Funds from this grant will support the purchase of additional software, equipment and tools for producing prototype products and mechanical and electrical operating systems in the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence, smart sensing and 3D printing, among other advanced manufacturing technologies.
