The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has created a new agricultural energy efficiency rebate program to help agricultural producers in the Commonwealth reduce energy consumption on their farms through the use of energy efficient technologies.
Rebates will pay 50% of equipment costs, up to $2,000 per technology category. Applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as funding remains available or through June 30, 2022. Learn more.

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) just announced the award recipients for their Manufacturing PA Innovation Program, which connects PA manufacturers with faculty research teams at a Pennsylvania college or university to collaborate on a project. Advisor Rich Joyce successfully found a faculty member at Penn State Berks campus who shared research interest with Harmony Turbines, a local company manufacturing residential wind turbines. The collaborative project proposal received over $69,000 through the Manufacturing PA Innovation Program. Learn more about the program.

Penn State officials met with U.S. Rep. Matthew Cartwright, National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan, principals from Schott North America Inc., and regional stakeholders to discuss the impact and statewide reach of NSF-supported research, education and entrepreneurship, as well as technology industry partnerships with Penn State that have taken place regionally. NEPA Alliance through the Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance (PREP) serving Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill, and Wayne counties, will be providing grants of up to $50,000 for small businesses and up to $15,000 for micro-enterprises (small businesses that employ few people) located in one of those 7 counties that have been severely impacted due to COVID-19.
