Get a Free Pollution Prevention Energy Efficiency (P2/E2) Assessment from your Regional PennTAP Advisor
We have a limited number of P2/E2 vouchers available to conduct assessments for PA manufacturers. A P2/E2 assessment consists of a few hours of conversation/tour on-site, and shortly thereafter we will provide you with a technical report summarizing conservation opportunities, estimated project costs, available funding sources, and the corresponding payback periods. Reach out to your regional PennTAP advisor to learn more about our services and get your assessment scheduled today.

The PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is now soliciting proposals from researcher-led teams at any accredited PA college/university engaged in a research project that seeks to advance a new product or process innovation with a PA manufacturer. In this cycle, $1.9 million may be made available for research projects. Award levels for individual projects can range from $25,000 to $70,000. PennTAP has a history of successfully matching up small to medium-sized business needs to Penn State University resources - contact your regional PennTAP advisor for assistance.

The PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)'s Agriculture Energy Efficiency Rebate program can help defray the costs of LED lighting, ventilation equipment, or dairy equipment upgrades for your farm. Applicants must meet the definition of a normal farming operation under Pennsylvania’s Right to Farm Law to be eligible for a rebate. Contact your regional PennTAP advisor to start determining eligibility.

The Food & Beverage TechCelerator offers food and beverage entrepreneurs, innovators and startups in Ben Franklin’s 32-county footprint an opportunity to build and de-risk their business model in a 10-week virtual business bootcamp, culminating in a pitch competition with a chance to win up to $30,000. The application portal is open now through December 2, 2022. The virtual program will run January 10 – March 14, 2023. Learn more.

The SBAG provides reimbursement grants ranging from 50% to 80% of eligible project costs to Pennsylvania small businesses to improve energy efficiency or reduce pollution or waste by: upgrading or replacing equipment or supplies; improving processes; or reducing runoff into affected waterways. Maximum grant awards will be determined by project eligibility, project location (relating to Environmental Justice areas), and environmental impact. The Intellectual Property Clinic, physically located at Happy Valley LaunchBox powered by PNC Bank, is accepting new clients statewide. With students from Penn State Law in University Park on staff, the IP Clinic provides counsel to entrepreneurs, innovators, and small businesses including patentability and trademark clearance searches and drafting applications to help the client get the legal services they need. The Pennsylvania Manufacturing Advisory Council, a nonpartisan partnership of manufacturers and industry experts, has released Pennsylvania’s Manufacturing Competitiveness Playbook – an actionable strategy document that identifies three game changers and 10 specific recommendations to make Pennsylvania’s manufacturing economy more robust and resilient – thus creating more good-paying jobs for Pennsylvanians. Based on input from more than 500 manufacturers, the Playbook is grounded in and responsive to the current challenges and opportunities facing manufacturers in the commonwealth. Learn more.
