Hello Pennell Elementary Families!

As we soar into the final week before our much-anticipated winter break, we can't help but reflect on the magical moments from our recent winter concert—what a sensational showcase of talent and joy! The air was filled with laughter and music, reminding us of the incredible spirit our students bring every day.

Now, let’s get ready to sleigh this week with our festive holiday spirit week! We encourage all of our students and staff to join in the merriment—dress up, spread cheer, and make some delightful memories together! What would the last week be without classroom celebrations? Thank you to all of our homeroom parents for partnering with our teachers to add a little extra something special this week.

A big thank you to all the parents for their generous donations, helping support the projects and celebrations that make this season shine. We also extend our gratitude to the parent volunteers who made the annual teacher holiday luncheon possible—it is truly a favorite day of the year for all of us.

And don’t forget, Friday is a half-day, a perfect opportunity for families to cozy up and enjoy some festive fun. We can’t wait to hear about your holiday adventures!

Let’s come together to celebrate our students and the wonderful community we’ve built.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Typing Challenge:

I recently threw down the gauntlet and challenged any student in the building to a typing competition for speed and accuracy. And guess what? Maddux, a fierce 5th grader, stepped up to the plate! I was worried because his classmates were singing his praises through the halls. He came in with an impressive 35 words per minute, but I managed to hold my ground with a speedy 45 words per minute.

🏆💨

It was a great showdown, and Maddux was definitely a worthy opponent. I can't wait to see who takes on the next challenge! Bring it on, future typists!

Seasonal Clothing Reminder:

As we embrace the joys of winter, we want to ensure that your children can fully enjoy their 25 minutes of recess each day. With this in mind, we kindly remind you to send them to school dressed in appropriate winter attire, including warm jackets, gloves, hats, and scarves. This small effort will not only keep them comfortable but also enhance their experience of fresh air and physical activity

during these chilly months. We appreciate your partnership in promoting your children's health and happiness during winter.

Lunch/Recess Assistant:

We are eagerly searching for two enthusiastic individuals to join our Pennell team as lunch and recess assistants! This rewarding role provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students during their lunch and recess periods, all while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment. The position involves working during school hours, specifically from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, allowing you to engage with our vibrant Pennell penguins each day. If you are passionate about children and wish to collaborate with a dedicated team, we warmly invite you to apply. Your contribution could make all the difference, and we can't wait to welcome you into our family!
