PENTAGON RESPONDS TO MRFF'S
LETTER TO SEC. OF DEFENSE AUSTIN;
CONFIRMS 1LT ALEX STOVALL IS A LIAR

Army Reserve officer and GOP congressional candidate
1LT Alex Stovall has been under investigation for over a month
for multiple violations of DoD regulations on political activities.

This Trump sycophant, who denies that Joe Biden is president, has been telling his own "big lie" throughout his political campaign –

CLAIMING TO BE AN ARMY CHAPLAIN WHEN HE IS NOT!

Screenshot of Chaplain Alex Stovall's campaign video ad on Facebook.

1LT Stovall's campaign lie that he is an "Army Chaplain" is a blatant violation of two sections of DoD Directive 1344.10, “Political
Activities by Members of the Armed Forces,” regarding
Reserve members running for political office.

First, it violates Section 4.3.1.1., which says that a Reserve officer, which is what 1LT Stovall is, “must clearly indicate their retired or reserve status.” Nowhere does 1LT Stovall indicate his Reserve status, and by calling himself an “Army Chaplain,” (disregarding for a moment that he is not a chaplain at all, even in the Reserve), he tacitly implies that he is regular Army, not Reserve.

1LT Stovall’s big lie that he is a chaplain violates Section 4.3.2.2., which states that a candidate may not (emphasis added):

“Depict or allow the depiction of themselves in uniform in a manner that does not accurately reflect their actual performance of duty.”

And the response just received by MRFF from the Pentagon, in response to MRFF's May 27, 2021 letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin CONFIRMS THAT 1LT STOVALL IS A LIAR, stating, as MRFF already knew from our sources, that 1LT Stovall is NOT A CHAPLAIN, but only an Army Reserve chaplain candidate.

Arizona candidate’s claim that he’s a military chaplain draws investigation

“Even a single inaccurate reference can have an impact on good order, morale, and unit cohesion which moves at warp speed and can have national security implications[.] He is presenting himself in a way which is totally inaccurate and to do (so) is in violation of DOD regulation and the military uniform code of justice. A first year law student or medical student is not either a lawyer or doctor…ergo, a chaplain candidate is not a chaplain.

Letter Received Today 7/14/21 from the Pentagon, responding to MRFF's May 27 letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin regarding 1LT Alex Stovall's illicit campaign activities

DEPARTMENT OF THE ARMY
OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF CHAPLAINS
2700 ARMY PENTAGON
WASHINGTON, DC20310-2700

July 7, 2021

Dear Mr. Weinstein, Esq.

This responds to your May 27, 2021 letter to the Secretary of Defense concerning First Lieutenant Alex Stovall. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns about our Soldiers' civil rights. The United States Army Chaplain Corps takes Soldiers' civil rights very seriously.

Lieutenant Stovall is a Chaplain Candidate in the US Army Reserve. The chain of command is currently conducting an investigation in which Lieutenant Stovall is involved. It would be inappropriate to comment any further at this time because of the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Thank you for your continuing support and concern for the men and women of our Armed Forces and their Families.

Sincerely,

Harry C. Huey, Jr.

MRFF's May 27, 2021 letter to
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin,
to which the above letter from the
Pentagon is in response
Background on MRFF's exposure of Army Reserve chaplain candidate and GOP congressional candidate 1LT Alex Stovall
In a flagrant and egregious violation of Article 88 of the Uniform
Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) — "Contempt towards officials" —
Army Reserve officer 1LT Alex Stovall, a Republican candidate
for the U.S. Congress from Arizona, denies that President Biden is
the president, implies that President Biden is a pedophile, and illicitly appears in military uniform in campaign ads and interviews. Stovall has habitually and criminally used contemptuous words towards President Biden, such as saying on the GunFreedomRadio podcast:

"We saw the inauguration of this well, I don't think he's
President but whoever you would call this sleepy guy in office"

For a military officer, these words are a PUNISHABLE CRIME.

He has also lied, and continues to lie, in his political campaign,
that he is an Army chaplain when he isn't, in one of his clear
and multiple violations of DoD Directive 1344.10, “Political
Activities by Members of the Armed Forces,”

MRFF officially demanded in May that Chaplain (1LT) Stovall be
swiftly punished for his multiple violations of the UCMJ.

Due to MRFF's exposure and demand an Army Reserve investigation of 1LT Stovall and his political
campaign activities was launched.
Background of the 1LT Alex Stovall story, exposed by MRFF on May 26 and subsequently covered
by major media outlets such as Newsweek,
Business Insider, Army Times, and others
Previous MRFF Victory when failed U.S. Senate candidate Doug Collins (R-GA) – also a military chaplain – illegally used his military uniform
and position in his 2020 campaign ads
