INCLUSION

Singing Our Faith ~ “There Is Room For All”

There is room for all in the shelter of God’s wing.
There is room for all in the shelter of God’s love.
And I rejoice and sing,
“My refuge and my rock in whom I trust!”
There is room for all.
There is room for all.

Welcome and Announcements

Many: Divine Comforter, encircle us with the peace that comes only from you.
One: As the Holy Winds fill our lives with dreams, empower us to live God’s hope in this world.
Many: As the Holy Fire fills our hearts with visions, empower us to create a world of justice and peace.
One: May the Divine Gales of this day move us to know the love of God.

Singing Our Faith ~ "I Saw a Tree by the Riverside"

I saw a tree by the riverside one day as I walked along,
Straight as an arrow and pointing to the sky,
Growing tall and strong.
“How do you grow so tall and strong?”
I said to the riverside tree.
This is the song that my tree friend sang to me.

Chorus:
I’ve got roots growing down to the water,
I’ve got leaves growing up to the sunshine,
And the fruit that I bear is a sign of the life in me.
I am shade from the hot summer sun down,
I am nest for the birds of the heaven.
I’m becoming what the Lord of trees has meant me to be,
A strong young tree. (last time repeat this line)

I saw a tree in the wintertime when snow lay on the ground,
Straight as an arrow and pointing to the sky,
And winter winds blew all around.
“How do you stay so tall and strong?”
I said to the wintertime tree.
This is the song that my tree friend sang to me.

Chorus

I saw a tree in the city streets where buildings blocked the sun;
Green and lovely, I could see it gave joy to everyone.
“How do you grow in the city streets?”
I said to the downtown tree.
This is the song that my tree friend sang to me.

Chorus

Invitation to the Table

One: Like a campfire, the Source of Life offers warmth and welcome.
All: Like a cookstove, The Source of Life is the Giver of community and sustenance.
One: Like a forest ranger, The Source of Life provides a spark of clarity, burning away the things that get in the way of our vision and imagination.
All: ... The flame of compassion.
One: ... The flame of mutuality and shared imagination.
All: ... The flame of clarity that powers justice.
One: In the midst of Pentecost, the Source of Life and Love gathers us around this table for warmth and renewal, to light our fires of renewal and restoration, to kindle the flame of faith.

Communion Song - "One Bread, One Body"
Chorus
One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.
1. Gentile or Jew, servant or free,
Woman or man, no more.
Chorus
2. Many the gifts, many the works,
One in the Lord of all.
Chorus
3. Grain for the fields, scattered and grown,
Gathered to one, for all.

JUSTICE

Word About Life - Shared by Rev. Ken Heintzelman
Acts 2: 1-4
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.

Words for Mission
One: In each gust of wind, may we reach out to the Spirit who inspires.
All: In each flicker of flame, may we follow the Christ of light.
One: These are the times.
All: We are the people.
One: All of Creation is blessed.
All: May we love all and serve all.
One: May God be with you.
All: And also with you.
One: Amen.
All: Amen.
