Pentecost 2026

Recap!

On Pentecost Sunday, the Sisters of Social Service welcomed Sisters, Associates, friends, and guests to the Holy Spirit Retreat Center to celebrate one of the most significant feast days of the Church and the SSS community. The gathering was especially enriched by the presence of Sisters from Eastern Europe, reflecting the congregation’s international spirit and shared mission.

The liturgy reminded us that, although we come from different cultures, experiences, and backgrounds, we are united by the same Holy Spirit and called to serve the common good. Following Mass, guests enjoyed a festive luncheon, renewing friendships and celebrating the bonds that connect the Sisters’ worldwide community.

As the Sisters continue their Centennial Jubilee year, Pentecost served as a joyful reminder of the Spirit’s ongoing presence—guiding, inspiring, and strengthening the mission of compassion, justice, peace, and service that has sustained the community for more than a century.
