Pentecost Vigil Mass and Prayer Meeting.
The Office of Evangelization at the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis issued an invitation to join Archbishop Hebda, Bishop Cozzens and Catholics throughout the Archdiocese to attend a Pentecost Vigil Mass and Prayer Meeting to celebrate the beginning of the Archdiocesan Synod process. The synod itself is scheduled in 2021 but the planning is beginning now.
This event being held at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mendota will be led by Charismatic Renewal communities. All are invited to attend. (See the June 6 issue of the Catholic Spirit for full details.)
CCCR and CoB have long advocated for both a Synod and also a lay advisory council for our Archdiocese. Some significant steps have recently been taken by our Archdiocese toward these goals for 185 parishes in this Archdiocese.
Some questions remain:
1) How will advice be gained from Catholics no longer affiliated with a traditional parish?
2) How will Synod planners hear the voice of the abused, the disenfranchised, young people and people from Intentional Eucharistic Communities?
3) How will your voice be heard?
If you share these concerns, please consider accepting the invitation from Archbishop Hebda and show up at the Pentecost Vigil Mass (St. Peter's in Mendota, 7 p.m., Saturday, June 8)
Let your voices be heard at this important gathering and share your hopes and vision for a unified Catholic community where the concerns of all members of the community are heard.
