People First
People are the most valuable resource of any organization, regardless of size.
This has been ASSOCIUM's reason for being since we were founded in 1984 as a Human Resources consulting firm. From there we evolved into a specialty Employee Health Benefits provider and launched an innovative Group Buying Program called ASSOCIUM GAIN.

Easy to use mobile app and electronic booklets
The MDM Mobile App allows plan members to submit claims, view claims history, and coverage information directly from their mobile devices. Members log in using the personal Access ID and the same password used for the Online Claims web Portal. This app gets the job done with its simple no nonsense design. Navigating the options are easy and straight forward.

In June 2019 ASSOCIUM transitioned printed paper booklets to electronic versions. As more employees work remotely this is an easy and cost effective way to access and reference electronic booklets.

Ontario Government Announces Change to Work Reduction/Temporary Layoff during COVID-19
Employment Standards Act
On May 29th, 2020, the Ontario Government introduced a new regulation under the Employment Standards Act. The layoff provisions of the ESA have been temporarily amended to provide much needed relief to any employer who has had to temporarily layoff non-union employee(s) or reduce their hours or wages as a result of COVID-19.

Under the new regulation, any layoff or reduction in hours or wages that extends beyond the layoff period is exempt from being deemed a termination of employment, therefore removing the obligation to provide ESA notice and severance.

  • Reduction in hours and wages does not constitute a constructive dismissal
  • Reduction in hours and/or wages does not constitute a temporary layoff

Dehydration, Electrolytes, and Sports Drinks
Steps you can take to avoid dehydration
With the summer season now upon us, temperatures around the world are rising and the chances of becoming dehydrated increases dramatically. Dehydration is when an excessive amount of water is lost from the body, often accompanied by an insufficiency in the amount of electrolytes in the body. Electrolytes are important chemicals that have essential roles in the body such as regulating the electrical charge in the cells of the body and controlling the flow of water in and out of cells.

Examples of electrolytes include sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. They also help regulate your heart beat and assist your muscles in contracting. When left untreated, dehydration can be dangerous in all age groups, especially children and older adults.
