PEOPLE OF PEACE

This is our story . . . This is Peace!

A Word

From Pastor Rich

“A couple of 3 things” Column

The first few folks I connected with 6 months ago said we didn’t have a newsletter; I’m pro newsletter, as a rule. Staff told me Cong Life has a kind of newsletter that is electronic, and then folks in a conversation about hiring our new EYF person(s) spoke of me positively as encouraging and growing our church culture. That is how I got here, where I will be regularly contributing to Cong Life’s monthly newsletter.

It’s been my joy to serve here and I recently realized I’d never gotten around to ordering my nameplate for my door; I put it off during my first few weeks. Lisa’s joke when I finally got back to her about ordering it was: O, are you no longer feeling temporary? I love working for a team that has a sense of humor and Peace’s staff is bright, clever, close, and we have fun. Please come by and check out my door’s nameplate in a few weeks; I’m getting a blue one. And yeah I’m no longer feeling temporary (smile).

A Blast from the Past!

The new summer social, "Peace, Love, Rock & Roll", was a smashing success! Those who attended enjoyed the transformation of the Fellowship Hall into a groovy, tie-dyed peace loving experience complete with a trivia game and karaoke. We had a number of members dress up in 60's attire and share their singing talents with us. The various Jell-0 salads were also a big hit. Trivia winners were the Williams family. $353 was raised in a free will-offering for the ELCA Gulf Coast Synod Disaster Relief. Pictured above are the members of the Congregational Life Team who had a whole lot of fun hosting the event. Connie Pickens, Rhonda Raphael, Melinda Grant, Connie Flickinger, Charlene Ellisor, Tammy Way, Dianne Rister.
