Prayer Shawl Service Project

"Christmas at Sea"

The ladies of the Prayer Shawl Ministry are inviting Peace Members to assist with a LCA Mission project. The goal is to provide a Christmas surprise for sailors, like tug board captains, who are at work on the Holiday.

They need people who have one of these skills: sewing, knitting and crocheting. The seamstresses will be making Ditty Bags to hold some Christmas goodies along with a hat or a scarf. The deadline is October 1. We will send completed Ditty Bags to the Seamans Church Institute for distribution.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is meeting this summer on Wednesdays from 10am-12:00pm, to encourage each other in the cause. If you are interested in the Ditty Bag Pattern, or the knitting /crocheting pattern, please contact Linda Kenyon 979-436-1628.

Furthermore, they have lots of yarn, knitting, and crochet tools. You are welcome to do your volunteering from your home or drop by and they will get you started.
