Join us tomorrow for our in-person September Ultreya!

The Ultreya is Saturday, Sept. 10, and begins with the parish mass at 4:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2525 S. Skyway Rd., Bartonville, IL 61607

Join us for Mass, a lay talk and social time!
  • Celebrant: Father Charles Klamut
  • Theme "In God's Time"
  • Lay Speakers: Bill Fischer and Gina Morss-Fischer
Guests and families are welcome!
Come join us for Monday Night Mass!
Please join us for Monday Night Mass this Monday, Sept 12 at 7 p.m. We will be in the main church at Holy Family, 3720 N. Sterling Ave.
We had such a good turnout at the first Mass we had in the palanca chapel here at our new offices that we filled the place! This is a good thing! We’re moving Mass to the main church through the Family Mass in October (Oct. 24) so that we have more room, and now anyone in the community who would like to can come and attend comfortably.

Men's Team #1204 is in the middle of its formation and the leadership of Women's Team #1205 will have its first meeting on Monday night!
Please support these men and women by coming to pray with them at Mass! And sign up for the palanca opportunities that are available. Call the office and we can also sign you up.

It is an exciting time to be preparing for weekends again.
Help Needed for Cursillo 1204 and 1205:

72-Hour Palanca Chapel for Men’s Cursillo #1204 – Please sign up either for online palanca or in-person at Holy Family Convent (Palanca Chapel). Please sign up at to pray in person or in the virtual chapel. As a reminder:
  • In-person Palanca at the Palanca chapel at the Cursillo Center at HFC will be available on Cursillo weekends from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. (Friday & Saturday) and 6 a.m.-3 p.m. (Sunday).
  • The virtual Palanca chapel will be via a zoom room and will be open continuously throughout the Cursillo weekend. You will be sent the link when you sign up for a specific spot.
  • The virtual Palanca chapel will allow you to sign Love Script pages just like you would in person. You will simply type your message in the chat section of the Zoom Room. These comments will be saved and printed on the Love Script.

Uncomfortable with using Zoom and the virtual chapel? Contact Ron and Pat Malik at and we will walk you through the process and provide suggestions before the weekend.

Palanca Letters – don’t forget to share your palanca with the team and candidates either via a hand written note dropped at the Cursillo Center at HFC or electronically with a short form - or long form

Love Script – the packets were a true success for men’s Cursillo #1204. All 12 were committed during our August Ultreya at Blessed Sacrament Church. If you didn’t have an opportunity to take part in the Love Script palanca for September, the packets for the Women’s #1205 Love Script are ready for distribution. Just go to and sign up for a packet. We will have the packets ready for you to pick up and able to sign you up at the September 10th Ultreya at St. Anthony’s church.

Come see us at the Ultreya at St. Anthony’s on September 10th! Ron and Pat Malik

Cursillistas wanted to help with meals at the Sacre Coeur Retreat Center are needed! During the weekend, all meals and snacks will be prepped by the Sacre Coeur staff. However, cursillistas can help with serving and cleaning up. Most shifts are around 2 hours each. As a reminder, Sacre Coeur is in Magnolia, IL, about 45 minutes from Peoria.

We are looking for help with Security at the Holy Family Cursillo/TEC Center in September and October!

Please prayerfully consider providing door security at the Holy Family Cursillo/TEC Center during the weekend for those doing Palanca in the Chapel. Most shifts are 2-3 hours, and will be while the chapel is open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 6 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday.

You can sign up at

Please come to the front door at 2312 W. Wagner Ln. and ring the door bell. (If you have mobility issues, you can enter through the back door off the school parking lot during non-school hours). Contact Tim Petz at 309-229-9889 with any questions.

A Prayer to Bring a Friend to Christ
Loving and gracious God,
I thank you for calling me into a closer relationship with you through Cursillo;
I thank you for my sponsor who heeded your call to invite me to a Cursillo weekend;
I ask, Lord, that if it is your desire, you put someone in my heart to invite to make a Cursillo,
and ask that you give me the words and faith to guide them.
Lord help me to bring a friend to your loving and merciful embrace.
I ask this in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Message from Peoria Lay Director
We're Home and We're Grateful!

A Message from
Dave Templin

It’s hard to believe after our exit from the Spalding Renewal Center in May that we’re comfortably at home in our new Cursillo Center at the Holy Family Convent. We’re open for business, we’ve begun team formation and we’ve celebrated mass in our familiar, but new Palanca Chapel. And all of this wouldn’t be possible without YOU

Given the condition of the convent when we arrived, it seemed improbable to host our Open House and Grand Opening in just 2 + short months. However, we asked, and you responded with cleaning, tossing, scrubbing, sweeping, taping, painting, moving, rearranging, hanging, installing and decorating. We’re certainly not surprised and we’re extremely grateful! Your support to renovate and open our new home is the latest demonstration of how generous and rich in ‘action’ our Peoria Cursillo community is. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
Please continue your amazing support by sponsoring a candidate, performing palanca and attending events for the upcoming Cursillo weekends. Together, we’ve overcome the challenges of yesterday and together, our future will thrive. Remember, ‘Christ is Counting on YOU!’

Gratefully, yours in Christ,
Dave Templin
