PEORIA, IL (May 15, 2026) — The Peoria Park District will officially celebrate the opening and ribbon cutting of the Golf Learning Center on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at noon.
The event marks the completion of the Golf Learning Center transformation into a year-round recreation and entertainment destination serving residents and visitors throughout Central Illinois. The $6.5 million project was supported in part through grants totaling $4.75 million from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), with the remaining project investment funded by the Peoria Park District.
“This Golf Learning Center is an investment in the community,” said Illinois State Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth. “It creates opportunities for young people to learn and grow, provides another outstanding recreational amenity for families, and adds to the momentum we continue to build here in Peoria. Projects like this improve quality of life, attract visitors, and demonstrate what’s possible when local and state partners work together for the benefit of the community.”
The Golf Learning Center combines golf instruction, recreation, entertainment, dining, and community gathering spaces into one multi-use facility designed for all ages and skill levels.
Features of the facility include:
- The Bays, a two-level interactive driving range experience

Golf simulators, indoor tech-enabled indoor golf simulators

Fairways, full-service bar and restaurant

The Range & Loop, traditional driving range and short course
The facility was developed to expand recreational opportunities while supporting tourism, economic activity, and year-round community use in the Peoria region. The Golf Learning Center modernizes the traditional driving range experience by integrating interactive technology, entertainment, instruction, food service, and flexible community space into one destination facility.
