PEORIA (June 25, 2024) – After much public discussion, the Peoria Park District has built on the tradition of the past to bring a different experience to Glen Oak Park on July 3 from 10am to 3pm.
The event, which is an extension of the District’s vibrant and fun Streets Belong To Me series, will transform Glen Oak Park into a vibrant playground where families can enjoy a wide range of activities including live entertainment, bounce houses, an obstacle course, a video game truck, face painting, snacks, and more.
In addition, visitors to the park will enjoy $3 discounted admission to Peoria Zoo and Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum, both located within Glen Oak Park.
"Our staff and board have worked with our community over the last few months to plan a day that focuses on celebrating Peoria and our nation together in safe, vibrant ways,” stated Emily Cahill, Peoria Park District Executive Director. "We want to make sure that this is a positive experience for all who participate. While we know that some will miss the fireworks this year, we believe that we have planned a day of positive recreation, play and connection. We can’t wait to see the park filled with families and friends enjoying a great day and celebrating together.”
