PEORIA (January 5, 2024) – The Peoria Park District is looking for community volunteers to be a part of their new Ad Hoc Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).
The CAC will provide a valuable communication channel between the Park District and the citizens of the communities served by the Peoria Park District. In addition to the elected board officials that serve on the District’s Board of Trustees, the CAC members will provide an independent perspective on parks and recreation issues affecting the community.
“The Peoria Park District works every day to evolve to meet the changing needs of our community,” stated Emily Cahill, Executive Director of Parks and Recreation. “As we dream together, we have to balance fun and fiscal responsibility; to continue to be bold and innovative while serving our users in the best possible ways; and to evolve and grow with our community. We very much look forward to the addition of the CAC committee to help us do just that.”
The District has a number of committees including the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee. The DEIA committee is also open for applications to grow its membership.
