A MESSAGE FROM THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR

As prescribed in the City Charter, I am required to produce an annual report each year that summarizes the performance and accomplishments of each City department and includes a fiscal audit summary. Dog Licenses - City Clerk's Office

Construction Update - Public Works 

The Public Works Department will be overseeing a project this fall that will rehabilitate the Main Street sanitary sewer system utilizing a liner that requires no excavation.  Bids for this project were opened on August 30th and the project completion deadline is November 3, 2017.  For information about this project please contact Chris Gallant, Deputy Public Works Director, at (207)284-6641. 

AccessAble Home Tax Credit - General Assistance

The AccessAble Home Tax Credit is a Maine income tax credit available to individuals who earn $55,000 or less for expenses paid for modifications to their residence to make it accessible for a person with a physical disability or physical hardship who lives or will live at the residence.

Efficiency Maine - City Clerk's Office

Efficiency Maine is the independent administrator for energy efficiency programs in Maine.   Their mission is to lower the cost and environmental impacts of energy in Maine by promoting cost-effective energy efficiency and alternative energy systems.  They do this primarily by delivering rebates on the purchase of high-efficiency lights and equipment to help customers save electricity, natural gas and heating fuels throughout the Maine economy. 1893 Annual Report Inaugural Address - City Clerk's Office

Household Hazardous Waste Day 

Residents of Saco, Biddeford and Scarborough will have an opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste on September 9th at the Biddeford Public Works facility. Proof of residency (such as a driver's license or tax bill) is required!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Denise Pendleton Sworn in as Tax Collector

Denise Pendleton has been the Deputy Tax Collector for City of Saco for 17 years. Denise was recommended to be Saco's new Tax Collector by the City Administrator, Kevin Sutherland. The City Council confirmed Denise's appointment at the City Council Meeting on August 21st. She was sworn in by the City Clerk, Michelle Hughes, on August 22nd. 

Congratulations, Denise! Best of luck in your new role as Tax Collector.
