Education Powwow The Pequot Museum’s Educational Powwow is a narrated exhibition showcasing Native American dancers and the significance of this cultural gathering for Indigenous people. Gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the powwow experience and how it helps sustain a sense of community for America’s first people. Join us for this educational, but interactive event!  *Please Note: Education Powwow is a black-out date for all Membership Reciprocal offers & promotions. 

NEEPUN (SUMMER) AT THE PEQUOT MUSUEM

This summer in July and August 2023 at the Pequot Museum we will be offering a variety of culture filled fun and educational programs, workshops and events for families and friends of all ages. Join us each day Wednesday-Saturday for some of the best experiences that Mashantucket has to offer at the largest Native American museum in the world!

WONDR WEDNESDAY Each Wednesday this summer the Pequot Museum will offer a variety of cultural and educational S.T.E.A.M. related offerings and workshops offered by our tribal family friends and community partners.

CULTURAL THURSDAY  The Pequot Museum is the ideal place for families, summer camps, and groups of friends to experience a variety of seasonal cultural activities and fun.

FILM FRIDAY Have you viewed all of the films offered at the Pequot Museum? Plan to spend a day watching the wide variety of fascinating and informative films located in the mini theaters throughout the museum. 

SEASONAL SATURDAY Come explore the great outdoors each Saturday here at the Pequot Museum. Experience the pristine beauty of nature while hiking Pequot Trails and visit our Terrace Gardens to learn more about Pequot and Eastern Woodland tribal summer life and traditions, both past and present.

MEMBERSHIP

Become A Member Members receive unlimited free admission to the Museum and invitations to educational events, workshops, programs, and member-only exhibit previews. Additional benefits include 10% discounts at the Museum gift shop. Accompanying guests receive a 20% discount on admission rates. Members also receive discounted admission and memberships at other partner institutions. The Museum Pass Program also provides library patrons opportunities to visit the Mashantucket Pequot Museum &Research Center year-round and receive special discounts.

Our dedicated Public Program team of Educators are currently working hard to provide the best experience for your group. At this time, we will be only offering Exhibit Highlight Tours. Exhibit Highlights (Recommended for Grades 5–Adult) This tour is an overview of the Pequot experience, highlighting exhibit areas from 18,000 years ago up to present day, pointing out the important connection of the land, the people, community, and family.
