Arts Community & Friends,
On behalf of the Board and Staff of The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, I am pleased to finally share with you some of our nonprofit's biggest news in our 19-year history: we have purchased a permanent home for the Cultural Office!
Our new, vibrant space at the corner of Weber St. and Fountain Blvd. in Downtown Colorado Springs will be a crossroads for creatives and regional leaders, a place of learning, coordination, and progress for local arts. This has been my passion project behind the scenes since August 2024, exploring 10 different properties along the way, and inspiring visioning by our Board and staff about what services and potential a new space could offer. Later this month, we're moving in!
Our new home will be:
For now, our mailing address remains the same:
- P.O. Box 190, Colorado Springs, CO 80901
Owning our property elevates our nonprofit’s stability. It protects our influential presence Downtown as prices rise. It offers us the possibility of growing our staff to meet the needs of a growing creative sector. And it will be a lively hub for the arts community: as soon as this fall, we’ll start hosting our arts education course “Addressing Trauma through the Arts” for both educators and teaching artists, breakfast meetings for regional leaders, business skills workshops and resource fairs for creatives, creative wellness classes each weekend for the Lowell neighborhood, and much more.
Many people have made this exciting step possible, including COPPR's current and previous Board members, our wonderful Guild and Arts Champion donors over the years, our foundation friends and business partners, our staff, and the previous executive directors who came before me - Bettina, Christina, and Andy. We'll be celebrating all of it in the weeks ahead. It took 19 years to build to this ... and this Arts Month, we can't wait to invite you in!
Warmly,
|
