Happy New Year!!


We are excited to announce our upcoming virtual education series - Hot Topics in Pediatric Primary Care. Each virtual session is free and will rotate between morning and evening sessions.


The first two session are coming up this month and both focus on gender affirming care. Take a look at the information on these sessions below. You can attend one or both, as they cover different information.


Participants may claim up to 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for each session.

Helpful Resources for You and Your Families

American Academy of Pediatrics Section on LGBT Health and Wellness (SOLGBTHW). The mission is to support the health and wellness of:

  • LGBT children and their families
  • LGBT parents and their children
  • Children with variations in gender presentation and their families
  • LGBT pediatricians and trainees


The acronym "LGBT" refers broadly to sexual minority groups including, but not limited to, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, difference/disorders in sex development, and two spirit. Learn more about the Section on LGBT Health here.


A Pediatrician's Guide to an LGBTQ+ Friendly Practice - This resource includes information about the importance role of front office staff, welcoming signage, pronoun stickers, information on improving office systems for LGBTQ+ people, communication best practices, and much more!


Words Matter: AAP Guidance on Inclusive, Anti-biased Language - The AAP recognizes that dialogue about terminology is ongoing and there often is not universal agreement about specific terms and their definitions. Vocabulary continually evolves. This is a working document that will be continuously updated as recommendations for suggested terminology evolve.


The Family Acceptance Project® is a research, intervention, education and policy initiative to prevent health and mental health risks and to promote well-being for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-identified (LGBTQ) children and youth, including suicide, homelessness, drug use and HIV — in the context of their families, cultures and faith communities.
