A Note from Help Me Grow Skagit's Physician Champion

Dr. Francie Chalmers

Happy New Year and welcome to the Help Me Grow Skagit January Newsletter.

This issue’s resource list is focused on both the HOPE and Language Development Learning Sessions.

Later this week, on Thursday January 19, 7-9 am, you are encouraged to attend a learning session presented by the HOPE National Resource Center at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. HOPE stands for Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences. You will learn about PCE’s or Positive Childhood Experiences and how they can combat the impact of ACEs and help all children thrive.

In February we are continuing our Winter/Spring educational series with a learning session on Screening and Early Intervention for Pediatric Language & Development. The team of presenters will guide you regarding screening, intervention, and resources for children and families with atypical language and communication development.

As HMG Skagit’s “Physician Champion” please remember that I am available to help facilitate connections between your practice and community support services. I can be reached anytime with questions and feedback at fchalmers.md@gmail.com.
