Perseverance and Faith: Advancing CCI Indonesia’s Mission
Greetings Ministry Partners,
I am very grateful for what God is doing in CCI Indonesia through the Konawe class, which meets three study days a month. The class scheduled me to teach from June 17-19, but during that time, my wife had to undergo chemotherapy for the second time. We postponed it until the following week.
From June 25-27, I visited the Konawe class and brought along Pastor Daniel Padang, the Mamasa Area Coordinator, with several goals in mind. He helped me teach the class, and I introduced him to the students so that if I was absent in the future, he could replace me in teaching. Also, this served as a means to motivate him to open classes like this in the area where he serves. The enthusiasm of the study participants and their responses when studying were very motivating. I saw that classes like this one need to be increased in Indonesia. I believe the goal of opening four classes like this this year will definitely be achieved with God. Because nothing is impossible.

I taught the Konawe class for three study days. In those three days, the class finished studying Book #1 and continued to Book #2, the Old Testament Survey. In two days, the students were able to study up to 2 Samuel.
In the CCI class in Pakatto, I taught about rule #2, interpreting based on context. Participants increasingly understand that paying attention to context is very important in interpreting.
| |
Oktavianus Mila, the Sumba Area Coordinator, met with the Kowaka class to study Book #3, New Testament Survey. They covered the New Testament Books Timothy–Philemon.

Pastor Daniel Padang, Mamasa Area Coordinator:
I serve in the JKI Church Synod by God's grace and pioneer a local church with my wife. Since 2019, we have been studying in the CCI class using the and also actively teaching in the study class. We are grateful that I have been entrusted to be the CCI Coordinator for West Sulawesi for the past few months. I see the miraculous way God works in the family, my wife, and me, as well as in our ministry in the local church and at CCI. I realize that being a coordinator who supervises several teachers who have positions in each local church synod is not an easy thing, even promoting CCI to people. Still, if I can do this service to this day, it is all because of God, who works miraculously.

My name is Katarina Lali Pora, and I am a participant studying in the CCI class in Waikabubak. At the beginning of learning, I thought this material was the same as other books. However, in the text observation step, I realized that I had often read without observing properly. I see what isn't there or don't even see what is there. Likewise, when doing assignments, it is very clear that observing the text to see what the text says is not enough to read once or twice; this has to be done repeatedly to confirm what I see and what is mentioned in the text. From this, I know that studying the Bible is not enough to read and finish reading, but the most important thing is to see what is said, know what it means, and know how to apply it.
