Personal Dignity Kits Distributed in Ukraine | |
|
LifeBox, an organization formed to provide assistance for people affected by the war in Ukraine, assembles LifeBoxes — boxes full of needed supplies donated by several different global organizations. Included in these boxes are Midwest Mission Personal Dignity Kits and Rice Meals!
These boxes are delivered all over Ukraine, to meet the needs of the most vulnerable. Thank you for assembling Kits, praying over the items and the ministries we serve, and donating funds and supplies. Because of you, many people in Ukraine have hygiene supplies to get them through the crisis.
Recently in a Facebook post, World of Connections, an organization that distributes LifeBoxes, commented on the distribution of boxes. This was posted on April 19, 2024 — the sad reality of the war in Ukraine is as desperate and terrifying as it’s been.

They wrote (translated):
“We have been restless in Kharkov in the last 2-3 weeks. On a daily basis they are shelling.
Thank God there is water, otherwise it would be very bad. Big outages with power. Kharkov authorities are doing everything possible in such a situation.
With the Church — thank God everything is fine. Thank God everyone is alive.
Of course it is scary when something is buzzing nearby at night. And who isn't scared? (Nobody canceled the instinct of self-preservation). The main thing is how you will behave after: live in a state of constant anxiety and worry, or live one day with hope in the Lord (enough for each day its own care, and tomorrow will take care of itself).
I thank God for you and your ministry. What you are doing is very important for the church and for all Ukrainians. Our prayers for all who participate in this ministry of life. God's blessings to you all!”
There is so much to learn from God’s people around the world. Even in the midst of the most desperate situation, they look to Christ. How often in our daily grumblings do we think to live one day at a time with hope in the Lord? Do we truly grasp the meaning behind Matthew 6:34 — “Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.”?

May we all learn from those we serve in Ukraine.
Please continue to pray for Ukraine — pray people will have access to items they need, pray the war will end, and pray that God’s people will continue being lights in the darkness, in Ukraine, here, and around the world.

You can still help us increase our stock of Personal Dignity Kits! That way, when a request comes in, we will be ready. Get your family, small group, or coworkers together, and have a mission moment right where you are! You can purchase the supplies needed (see the list at midwestmission.org/kits), and pack Personal Dignity Kits at home using this video.
Then, when you are done, you can bring them to Midwest Mission, a Permanent Collection Site near you, or bring them to your UM Annual Conference Collection if they are hosting a Midwest Mission Truck — click this link to see if your conference is participating.
Not interested in packing, but still want to help? You can purchase supplies for the kits and have them sent directly to Midwest Mission! Use this link to see what you can buy.
