Update from DVworkshops Instructor Aron Ranen.
With the November release of iPhone X, and it's new tools for Augmented Reality, (iPhoneX shoots 60fps video which is ideal for AR applications) the future is bright for image makers. I'm Looking forward to exploring
this new way of creating media with you.
I also want to share an inspiring news article. It's about Eben Hopson and his
film made during our Documentary Workshop this past summer in Barrow, Alaska.
New York City has been my home for the past 3 months. Working for
Reuters, The Associated Press and Agence France Press (AFP) as a Video Journalist.
I had a Hilarious encounter with Angelina Jolie at the Premiere of her film which she just directed. Most of the tv crews interviewing her had a Cameraperson, Producer, Soundman... she approaches me after being interviewed by ET, and notices that I'm doing all the jobs. Angelina Jolie wants to help me, as you can see in the clip below.
Had a chance to speak with President Trump at the UN. He was passing the press corp at the delegate entrance, I screamed out " What do you have to say to the people of Japan who are concerned about their safety?"..and he came right up to me and answered my question, ignoring other reporters.
They were lined up for blocks to get a chance to
meet Hilary Clinton at the first stop on her book tour.
Prior to her arrival all our gear was checked
by the secret service, then we were quarantined and escorted
up a back elevator into the Barnes and Nobles. How fun!

Vi Nguyen, who is a v
ideographer for Stanford University School of Engineering. He helped set up this Green Screen shoot in a CEO's office for a new corporate video I am directing.
I am returning to Los Angeles for the Winter, and will be teaching a Hands-on Video Workshop December 2-5 in Marina Del Rey/Venice Beach area. Please share.
