With our whole being, in Relationship, Gospel Living and Unity in Diversity, may we give witness to the goodness that is all around us.

An FSPA promise fulfilled for 160 years

It was 160 years ago today, March 19 — the Feast of St. Joseph — that the promise to live out FSPA's sacred ministry of Perpetual Adoration was made by Mother Antonia Herb: "Dear Lord, accept this poor light ... if you will help us and bless the community, we will one day establish the perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament [introduced by FSPA in 1878]." We are sharing a story of the promise that spans the first spark of a lard light all that time ago to the flame we carry on today. Read it at fspa.org.

In the news: FSPA 'Fish for the Future'

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Karen Lueck displays her origami creation for the Fish for the Future campaign at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

"We urge decision-makers to prioritize the long-term health of all over short-term economic gains," states Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Georgia Christensen in the Urban Milwaukee article, "Great Lakes Organizations Launch World Record Campaign to Underscore Water Protection and Shut Down Line 5." The article issues a collective call to join Fish for the Future, a campaign aiming to break the record for the world's largest collection of origami fish. Read more from Sister Georgia and partnering Fish for the Future organizations about the mission to shut down Line 5 and learn how to release your own origami fish into the world-record pool (origami how-to video included!) at fspa.org.

Wells of Wisdom: Sister Marcella Anibas

"I always knew I was meant to be a healer, and I was. That gave me peace," shares Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Marcella Anibas in the newest edition to our Wells of Wisdom collection. Read more about the life and ministry of Sister Marcella, who reminds us that "Peace is receiving each moment as it is and welcoming all," at fspa.org, where you can also experience wisdom from the wells of other FSPA.

Sharing journeys of hope

FSPA continues to share Jubilee Year of Hope reflections from our sisters, affiliates, partners in ministry, donors and ministry grant recipients that include this image and message from Viator House of Hospitality, an organization missioned to provide compassionate and interfaith accompaniment to young adult males seeking asylum in the United States. "Despite the horror [A.] experienced traveling through this jungle," shares Brother Michael Gosch, CSV, of VHH, "his art depicts flickers of light symbolizing a better life ahead." Visit viatorhouseofhospitality.com to learn more about the organization and the people, like A., it serves.

With your generous support

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Sarah Hennessey sponsors a ministry grant, supported by our donors, for young adults living with disabilities at St. Nicholaus Children's Center in Kemondo, Tanzania. See pictures of the residence built for four young adults with FSPA financial assistance at nikolaushaus.com.
