From Your Principal
Hello Peter Hobart Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I hope your family has enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with many things and activities that have brought smiles to your faces. I enjoyed my summer with family and friends, some traveling, relaxing, and time up north. It was a wonderful summer and I am ready to welcome the students back to school!

The start of each school year brings a new hope and dream of all that is to come. This year, along with the help of the theme of the district, I have reflected on the idea of connection and community. This year our district theme is “Ubuntu – I am because we are.” Ubuntu’s powerful meaning comes from South Africa and is often used to convey the ideas of connection, community, and mutual caring for all. As a school family, we care about you, your experience, your perspective and your hopes and dreams. Collectively, as partners in your child’s education we believe every child can and will achieve excellence and we are committed to the social, emotional, physical and academic growth of every individual. I appreciate and need your partnership, together we will all do better. This is my hope for Peter Hobart, SLP, and all humanity! UBUNTU - I am because we are!

Peter Hobart Proud,
Kari Schwietering
Principal

Out of School Time Task Force
In preparation for the new school start-end times beginning Fall 2020, the school district is recruiting stakeholders to form a task force to create a robust menu of out-of-school time options to meet the overall health, academic and social/developmental needs of all K-5 students and families. The task force will develop recommendations for out of school time including academic programs, enrichment and recreation opportunities, and childcare options.

Out-of-school time means academic, enrichment, recreation, and childcare opportunities, before and after school. A recommendation is defined as a menu of various options for staff to consider when developing a program.

Click here to apply for the task force! Applications due September 6, 2019 .
