Peter met John English on a weekend retreat in the early ‘70s. The die was cast and the journey to CLC began. Peter then made an 8 day with John and this was followed by the Spiritual Exercises. Once he had completed the Exx, John invited him to join a small men’s community. This community didn’t last, but did become the seed for CLC Canada. Four couples came together and eventually formed CLC. One of our discernments was to disband and set up new communities in our various areas. The decision was made to join CLC International and Peter went to the World Assembly in Rhode Island in the early ‘80s. He was President of CLC Canada for a number of years in our early development. He attended various assembles both in Canada and in Mexico and the U.S. To the day of his passing, Peter was involved in a CLC community, either as a member or a guide. He was passionate about the importance of small community and CLC in particular. He gave to CLC, but it was reciprocal as he received so much from the friendships and learnings of CLC. He always felt blessed that this was part of his life’s journey. Truly a good man who will be missed.
